BRISTOL - Bottle & Jug Display

In August of 2003 , I was approached by Dr. Kermit Lowry of the Bristol Historical Association and asked to "put on" a window display of Bristol bottles & jugs. I quickly accepted and contacted several collector friends who also had bottles I wanted to include in the display. They were Rob Kesner of Blountville, Kenneth Bryant of Bristol, and Ralph Van Brocklin of Johnson City. I went to Ralph's and Kenneth's homes and picked up their contributions. Rob Kesner was to bring his to the display windows, located in the offices of Dent K. Burke & Associates on State St. in Bristol, VA.

    Ms. Patrick, Ms. King, and Ms. Rainero of the Bristol Historical Association were on hand with assistance and some materials for setting up the display. Dr. Lowry came by later and bought me Lunch.

     The display remained the entire month of September and drew quite a bit of interest. It was even deemed worthy of an article in the Bristol Herald newspaper of Sep. 11.

    ** One of the ladies employed with Dent K. Burke informed me she overheard one individual exclaiming, ( as he viewed the display)..." drat, I bet I threw away a fortune !"
